A baby boy bled
to death after the Rabbi who circumcised him advised his concerned mother to
stem the bleeding from the wound with Vaseline (petroleum jelly).
According to an online report on the circumcision death the incicision
in Angelo Ofori-Mintah’s penis began to bleed a few hours after Rabbi Mordehai
Cohen circumcised the one-month-old baby from Queens Park London.
Realising her
son was bleeding, Mrs Maame Abrafi who is originally from Ghana, removed the
bandage at home. Mrs Abrafi asked a friend to contact the Rabbi and he advised applying petroleum jelly to the wound.
The Deputy
Coroner Shirley Radcliffe described this as a “tragic break-down in
communication” and although the bleeding eventually stopped, Angelo became
cold and pale and was rushed to hospital with dangerously low oxygen levels.
He suffered a
cardiac arrest and died in the early hours of 17 February 2012 and tests
revealed he had lost about three-quarters of his total blood volume and died as
a result of an acute haemorrhage due to circumcision.
The coroner angered
opponents of Unnecessary Male Circumcision today by ruling that the death was
accidental.
It isn’t the
first time Dr Radcliffe has angered campaigners. The doctor hit the headlines
last year when the family of a cyclist killed by a lorry took legal action
against her claiming she failed to
comply with her duties to "fully, fairly and fearlessly" investigate
the facts of the death
Angelo’s is not
the first baby to bleed to death as the result of a circumcision. Later this
year a Salford midwife will be tried for the manslaughter of the baby Goodluck Caubergs who bled to
death in 2012.

I have a one month old baby boy...this mother was pregnant at the same time as me. It makes me sick to my stomach - for the love of God, why? They're perfect as they are.
ReplyDeleteIf god wanted them circumcised, why didn't he just create them without a foreskin in the first place, instead of putting them through this dangerous and agonisingly painful practice?
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing more than a barbaric tradition from the dark ages that's been shielded from criticism because of religion.
Because god does NOT exist!!!
DeleteMaybe god made a mistake? Seriously, if you want to hear a panel on the issue see existencePS.org.
Delete"...from the dark ages..."? It predates the dark ages, about a thousand years ago. It's been a Jewish tradition for millenia.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually a Stone Age custom. The bible says they used flint knives, and it goes way back before then to Egypt and further south in Africa. Nothing lasts forever, and its time this custom was consigned to history, whether ritual or "medical".
DeleteZionist are FAIL.
ReplyDeleteI can see the Jewish community now...can we please talk about this before you charge him with anything?
ReplyDeleteMordechai Lipshitz puts another foreskin on his necklace.
ReplyDeleteI love knowing that ww2 is the last time the goy will prevent their utter annihilation as a parasite on the world.
Snippin the tip is done to reduce sexual pleasure. It makes me sick to think about why that's a reason to do it. I can't think of any good reason to chop.
ReplyDeleteThe Jewish & Muslim religions are a anathema to western society. millennia ago they whipped off their foreskins because desert people could not wash so this reduced the numbers of infections.
ReplyDeleteThey also do not eat pork because scrounging/carnivorous animals pick up more parasites. But all our farm animals now eat the same feed.
They kill animals in such a fashion the West finds extremely distasteful. The animals are conscious as their necks are slashed so they bleed to death in absolute fear, dismay and pain. Yet the morally corrupt and reprehensible RSPCA does NOTHING!
Medical claims were not made for circumcision until about 200 years ago. Under desert conditions, with no asepsis, circumcision would have killed far more babies than it ever protected from anything.
DeleteIt sounds like this was a Muslim baby that was circumcised, not a Jewish baby. If he was Jewish it would have been on the 8th day - this was a month later. So I'm assuming this is a Rabbi who practices on non-Jewish clients as well. I think this is an example of why non-medical practitioners should not be dispensing medical advice. I've never heard of Vaseline being prescribed to stop bleeding before.
ReplyDeleteOne word: IMBECILES...
ReplyDeleteMan, if even ONE baby dies from getting cut, it's too many. It's so unnecessary. So preventable. So simple to keep sharp instruments away from babies. Especially their genitals!
ReplyDeleteAnd the only punishment the killer gets is so mild! Yet if I had mutilated a baby in the same way, I'd spend a long time in prison, and rightly so.
